[But - he hasn't really explained what he thinks her mistake was. Coming from a world where dragons grew in the wild, and some on reservations? Not somehow knowing to fight against magical creature abuse when she was barely eleven?
What was the whole core of this?
No, it's easier to let him talk for a change. When he produces a flame, she startles, the motion subtle enough that she nearly missed it. Wandless magic? No - just magic. His magic.]
I've never seen you cast before. [That one's whispered, almost fascinated, before his words make sense.] Oh - I see. So you would. Hm. I'm not sure I like the idea of it being out of my control.
[ When you've had fine control of your magic, losing it isn't ideal. ]
Perhaps seeing if you have any affinity for mine would tell us if it would be useful in a wand.
[ He twists sideways and leans to snag a bag closer, digs a small pouch and tips a series of small gems out onto the table. There are a mix of colours, but the largest quantity seem to be shades of blue. Which is nothing to do with it being Anduin's usual colour, total coincidence.
He studies her a long moment, then shifts his hand and picks up one with a reddish hue. He flicks it into the air and then channels magic into it thoughtfully, causing it to hang in the air and rotate slowly, suspended by the fiery beams spilling from his hands. ]
[That sounds like a challenge and an interesting thing to try and figure out, so of course she is interested. As he rumages through his bag, she takes another few sips of tea, simply watching him for a few moments, in silence with her own thoughts.
A dragon.
Using a human body to walk among them all, undistinguishable from a regular human aside from the eyes. And even those...] I thought you were a vampire. [She isn't very aware she said that out loud, before he starts to float a gem in front of her.]
No, no - [Well.] They're unsettling, to be sure. They made me curious, I suppose, is a way of putting it. [A little smile. Awkward.] I've been accused of being nosey.
[But - anyway. She reaches out and plucks the gem from his hand, clutching it in her fist. It feels warm to the touch. The fact that he is not, in fact a vampire, but that he is a dragon (fire and earth are his affinity, apparently) makes her think that the gem would be useful with fire spells. Not that she wants to set this house on fire.
She casts a quick glance about the room, and settles on the candle lit between them on the table. Leans forward, and blows it out, plunging them into darkness. With the gem warm in her hand, she thinks incendio, and the wick goes alight with a small flame.]
[She hasn't cast Incendio wandlessly before, and it fills her with a sort of unexpected joy, which cuts through the bubble of anger that's been festering since the time she drank from the villagers' vial. So yes, she is grinning, proud of herself, when she drops the gem back in his hand.]
That was impressive nevertheless. I would very much like to see how you create enchanted objects.
It depends on the property you are trying to imbue and the type of object. Some volatile or more powerful magics require a stabilising element.
[ He begins packing the gems carefully back into the pouch, thinking that over. His eyes flit sideways to the potion bottle as he ties the pouch closed, and he slips a hand underneath his robe again to run along his side and over the skin his back. The slight quiver of unsteadiness has, at least, left him now.
Talking about nerdy magic theory is comforting. Wrathion is not a cool kid at all. ]

Um. Alright - what am I meant to do?

My eyes? Do they bother you?
[ He tilts his head, thoughtful, then releases the gem and catches it with one hand. He holds it out to her. ]
I've infused this with fire magic. See if you can feel it, then see if you can use it.
[ The kind of instructions given by someone who just expects people to work it out. ]

It relights, and he flickers a small smile. ]
Well, that proves the base concept. Now we just need to see how well we can make it work on a grander scale.
[ He holds out his hand for the gem again, tilts his head thoughtfully. ]
And with other types of magic. That was likely the easiest.
[ Fire with dragon blood is very much a given. ]
