The fact that he is not, in fact a vampire, but that he is a dragon (fire and earth are his affinity, apparently) makes her think that the gem would be useful with fire spells. Not that she wants to set this house on fire.
She casts a quick glance about the room, and settles on the candle lit between them on the table. Leans forward, and blows it out, plunging them into darkness. With the gem warm in her hand, she thinks incendio, and the wick goes alight with a small flame.]
[She hasn't cast Incendio wandlessly before, and it fills her with a sort of unexpected joy, which cuts through the bubble of anger that's been festering since the time she drank from the villagers' vial. So yes, she is grinning, proud of herself, when she drops the gem back in his hand.]
That was impressive nevertheless. I would very much like to see how you create enchanted objects.
It depends on the property you are trying to imbue and the type of object. Some volatile or more powerful magics require a stabilising element.
[ He begins packing the gems carefully back into the pouch, thinking that over. His eyes flit sideways to the potion bottle as he ties the pouch closed, and he slips a hand underneath his robe again to run along his side and over the skin his back. The slight quiver of unsteadiness has, at least, left him now.
Talking about nerdy magic theory is comforting. Wrathion is not a cool kid at all. ]
